The Local Leaders of Education Programme is an important part of the government’s plan to give schools a central role in developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system. The goal of Local Leaders of Education is to increase the leadership capacity of other schools to help raise standards. The responsibility for designating new Local Leaders of Education has now been devolved to Teaching Schools, and LLEs are associated to and deployed through a Teaching School for their System Leadership work.

The recruitment window is now closed
